Leroi Moore: 1961-2008

Dave Matthews Band saxophonist Leroi Moore passed away yesterday due to complications from a June ATV accident. We’d like to take a moment to recognize a great musician and offer our condolences to his friends and family.

And now for something completely different.

I know we don’t bring you much any music news around here, but this one was definitely worth mentioning. Anyone who’s ever listened to Dream Theater knows they’re easily the best band in the history of the world. And guess what? They have a new DVD due out in September! It’s a two-disc set filmed during the Chaos in Motion World Tour, which the band just finished up last month.

Move It Move It is reporting on a story reported on by The Moving Picture reported on by The Times Online. It looks like Arrested Development fans may be seeing the Bluth family again, as early as next year. In an interview with Jason Bateman, the co-star of next month’s Hancock has this to say…

“When it was on TV, if you missed one word the whole third act could be vlown for you. And TV is a different experience. You come home and you’ve got to finish a call so you miss the first ten minutes or you get snacky and you go to the fridge and you miss another two minutes, so it’s a different experience to film.”

A hint perhaps? Man I hope so. Thinking about such a great show being cancelled before it’s time makes me sad, and I cry. Here’s hoping!

We hate to disappoint our dozens and dozens of readers, but it’s summertime at Move It Move It and the wife and I will be spending the next few weeks in Germany. Arthur C. Clarke: 1917-2008

We’ve lost a giant. Arthur C. Clarke was one of the Founding Fathers of science fiction and the author of such classics as 2001, Rendezvous with Rama and Childhood’s End. He passed away at his home in Sri Lanka after breathing complications. He was 90 years old.
